If you are friends with me on Facebook, you know that I post the majority of my photos there. In order to share some of these photos with you, I’m going to be sharing the public links to a number of my albums.
I really enjoyed the open-endedness of this assignment. Since I love music, I decided to take a photo of our xylophone highlighting the “Do, Re, Mi”. I didn’t have much natural lighting, and I think that helped give the photo a slightly haunted appearance. One of my favorite aspects of the photo is the way that I incorporated leading lines into it ~ I think they really helped the overall composition.
This assignment had several dimensions. In addition to being surreal, the photo was also supposed to be in black and white and have shadows in it. After experimenting with several ideas, I finally came up with one that worked. Hayley put on an old wedding dress and we headed up to our barn loft for the shoot. It was hard to keep a straight face because this photo does not resemble her personality at all!
