I really enjoyed the open-endedness of this assignment. Since I love music, I decided to take a photo of our xylophone highlighting the “Do, Re, Mi”. I didn’t have much natural lighting, and I think that helped give the photo a slightly haunted appearance. One of my favorite aspects of the photo is the way that I incorporated leading lines into it ~ I think they really helped the overall composition.
I really appreciate everyone who has taken the time to check out my blog. I would love to hear feedback from you. Do you have any ideas on how I could improve my blog? I would love to hear them! In addition, I am open to any photography ideas/challenges from you. I should be posting more photos in the next couple days – I hope you will enjoy them!
This assignment had several dimensions. In addition to being surreal, the photo was also supposed to be in black and white and have shadows in it. After experimenting with several ideas, I finally came up with one that worked. Hayley put on an old wedding dress and we headed up to our barn loft for the shoot. It was hard to keep a straight face because this photo does not resemble her personality at all!
